Because of you, I was able to implement a deep, collaborative study of the Holocaust, centered on Elie Wiesel's memoir 'Night'.\r\n\r\nMy teaching objective was to move beyond surface-level reading and closely examine the complexities that 'Night' raises, questions about humanity, inhumanity, and the choices people make under unimaginable duress. This study would not have been possible without your funding. \r\n\r\nThis study also enabled us to delve into a deeper literary analysis. Students collaboratively discussed, debated, and reflected on acts of kindness, cruelty, selfishness, and unselfishness. They also charted and analyzed Wiesel's use of language. \r\n\r\nTeaching the Holocaust to high schoolers is a necessary responsibility.
