Watching them physically manipulate the numbers helped deepen their understanding and made abstract concepts feel concrete and fun.\r\n\r\nThe day we opened the box of materials was full of wide eyes and eager hands. My students were immediately drawn to the balance scale set, and we quickly turned it into a class challenge: could they make the scale balance using different number blocks on each side?
