We were able to purchase a class set of microscope adaptors so that students are able to use their cell phone cameras to take pictures of cells that they are viewing through a microscope. For my AP Biology students, they used the adaptors to view prepared microscope slides of onion root tips in order to investigate how long cells spend during the process of cell division (mitosis) which makes new cells and permit the onion to grow. The adaptors meant that students were abel to get very clear, high resolution images and thus were able to do a complete analysis of the stages of mitosis. I saw high engagements as the students were able to all see the microscope slide image on the phone and find the regions they wanted to analyze so the adaptors increased communication and collaboration among the lab groups. \r\n My Biology students were also able to take pictures of microscope slides that they made. They also used onion skin but also used their own cheek cells to compare plant and animal cells. They were excited to be able to take pictures of their slides in order to hlepl comlete their report and show their families. Thank you so much for helping to make this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1730688781490,"projectUrl":"project/making-the-smallest-of-small-visible-to/8905644/","projectTitle":"Making the Smallest of Small Visible to All!","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Wagner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7607060"},{"teacherId":2517846,"projectId":7114927,"letterContent":"Thank you so much.
