Many high school students are overwhelmed with pressure from academics, family, work, friends, relationships, and social media. Learning how to balance their obligations and take care of themselves mentally and physically is just as important as learning how to read and write. Many teens in my area do not have resources to learn various strategies. This activity gave them the opportunity to explore mini workshops that they may never have been exposed to without investing a lot of time nor money. \r\n Students had time to reflect in the day and many commented that they felt really good about themselves after certain activities. One said \"I learned that moving around and connecting with others can help relieve stress.\" Another reflected \"That time and relaxation are precious commodities that we don't appreciate until we don't have them anymore, and are extremely important for physical and mental health. I also learned to appreciate the teacher and staff for setting this up for us.\" \r\n Next year, the student will be able to lead sessions. I also plan on inviting more community members. This year we had a yoga instructor come in a teach a yoga session.
