Thanks to you, our students now have a furnished room that serves as a separate location from student classrooms where students can re-calibrate, relax, and prepare to return to the classroom environment.\r\n\r\nStudents were so excited to see this new space and the bubble lamp in particular! We have over 40 students who utilize the sensory room and it is a calming environment full of sensory supports that benefit both students and staff alike. The rocking chairs help students relax and center themselves. The bubble lamp provides visual stimulation and a calming atmosphere. The tent provides a space where students can take a break from sensory overload and re-center themselves.\r\n\r\nWe could not provide these resources without your generous donations. Our classroom garden is up and running and we couldn't have done it without your support.\r\n\r\nThanks to your contributions, students in my class were able to study the plant and water cycles. We were also able to plant seeds, grow flowers, and decorate flower pots for Mother's Day. Thanks to an additional donation from a local nursery, we were able to fill our raised garden bed with soil and transplant seedlings we grew in our classroom window. Right now we have pinto beans, marigolds, dill, cilantro, and dwarf sunflowers growing in our garden. \r\n\r\nIn addition, students had a chance to learn valuable skills including teamwork, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
