My students picked out their favorite color hat, and up to three patches that represented their interests. The kids talked to each other about the patches they chose, and why they made those choices. There were so many great conversations going on. This helped my students get out of their comfort zone, and speak to students that they did not know well. The students were able to decide how they wanted their patches arranged their hats. This really allowed those creative sides to come out. They did such a great job, and were so excited. We plan to wear these hats as a class a different times throughout the year.
