Because of your donation, we were able to purchase a new rug that has quickly become an important part of our daily learning environment.\r\nThis rug is used every day with students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, as well as during adaptive music. Students gather on it for community circles, circle games, music activities, and group learning. It also provides a comfortable space for students to sit during flexible seating times.\r\n\r\nOne of the most special parts of receiving this new rug was seeing the excitement from my adaptive students. They were especially happy to discover that the new rug has the same design as our old rug. The familiar design immediately made the new rug feel comfortable and safe, and it became an instant part of their routine. For students who thrive on familiarity and consistency, having that familiar visual element made the transition to a new rug feel easy and reassuring.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new rug, they were so excited! They immediately noticed that it was like a \"mini version\" of our old rug and loved that it felt so familiar while giving us even more usable space. They were excited to see that there was plenty of room for all of our favorite games, movement activities, music activities, and classroom routines. Their enthusiasm made it clear just how much this familiar space means to them and how ready they were to make the new rug part of our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe new rug has also made Kindergarten music much easier to manage. Previously, I used Velcro spot dots to designate students' sitting spots. These spots could shift, come loose, or need to be replaced and relocated throughout the year. The colorful and differently labeled boxes on the new rug are permanent and easy for young students to find, which makes transitions smoother and helps Kindergarten students know exactly where to go. It has also eliminated the ongoing maintenance of replacing and rearranging Velcro dots, giving me more time and energy to focus on teaching and engaging with my students.\r\n\r\nAs we begin new lessons and prepare for upcoming curriculum additions and changes over the next several years, this rug will continue to be a place where we can all come together to learn. Whether we are exploring a new musical concept, trying a new game, moving to music, gathering for a lesson, or building community, we now have a consistent and inviting space where students can come together. This rug will be part of so many new experiences and learning moments for years to come, making your generosity an investment that will continue to benefit students long into the future.\r\n\r\nMore than just a place to sit, this rug gives our students a welcoming space to gather, connect, participate, and feel a sense of belonging. Your generosity has helped create a warm and inviting classroom environment where all of our students can learn and participate comfortably. My students were so excited for the arrival of the items. They were amazed by how many pieces there were and how many different things they could build. \r\n\r\nWe now use the building sets almost every day. The blocks have also become something students ask for daily. Many students use them not just for building, but as a positive way to reset and refocus. When a student is feeling overwhelmed, restless, or off-task, spending a few minutes building helps them calm their mind, concentrate, and get back on track. For several students, this has become an incredibly helpful tool for self-regulation and focus, allowing them to return to their learning feeling more confident and ready to participate.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students this opportunity. When the students first saw them, they were excited in the most genuine way—testing them out, moving them around, and immediately asking if they could use them for group work.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the stools during reading groups, math rotations, and our natural disasters unit. They've helped students settle into small groups quickly and comfortably, which keeps them more focused on the learning and less on the logistics of rearranging the room. During a recent science activity, students naturally grabbed the stools, formed tight circles around their materials, and got right to work. It felt like the flexible seating matched their energy and how they naturally collaborate.\r\n\r\nMany of my students face challenges outside of school, but in our classroom, they shine—asking thoughtful questions, helping one another, and jumping into hands-on activities. These stools support that. They allow students to move, join groups, and create their own workspaces, which builds important skills like communication, teamwork, and independence.\r\n\r\nYour support genuinely transformed our classroom.
