I use the materials in small groups to work on specific skills needed in each reading group. The gel liquid letters have been a huge hit! My students were so excited to get their hands on these letters. These gel liquid letters have helped the children learn letter names as they touch and squeeze the letters, and work on correct letter formation. It is so fun and engaging as the children are learning through tactile experiences. One of my reading groups enjoys using the write and wipe CVC cards. This is very interactive and they are learning to build CVC words and blending to read the words. Our next step is to begin reading the Word Family Readers. The goal for my students is to become readers by the end of kindergarten. I've been using cut and paste and ink dobber sound sheets from TPT materials to reinforce the skills I've taught. All of my students are benefiting from these sensory approaches. \r\nMy class and I thank you so much! Your kindness and generosity has made this project successful, but most of all, you have helped me get my children ready to become good readers.","fullyFundedDate":1732284619577,"projectUrl":"project/sensing-the-difference/8559097/","projectTitle":"\"Sensing the Difference!\"","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Zambito","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1842831_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1455851081193","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-zambito"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39051","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":160,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":84,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"7.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":37.7,"schoolId":39051,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Center McMechen Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Center McMechen Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/west-virginia/marshall-county-school-district/center-mcmechen-elementary-school/39051"}
