Your contributions have truly made a difference in helping us encourage students to look for ways to be kind to one another. Having fun rewards has motivated them to get excited about kindness, and it's been wonderful to see how engaged they are in the process.\r\n\r\nI've already noticed such a huge improvement in the way students are treating one another. The excitement around trying to figure out who the \"secret kind student\" is each week has been contagious, and it's creating such a positive energy in our school community. We couldn't have done this without your support, and we are so grateful for the impact you are making on our students.\r\n\r\nYour generosity not only helps us provide fun incentives, but it also teaches students that kindness is valuable and worth celebrating. Thank you for investing in our kids and helping us grow a culture of compassion, encouragement, and positivity.","fullyFundedDate":1747327050869,"projectUrl":"project/kindness-counts-mystery-student-watch/9266135/","projectTitle":"Kindness Counts – Mystery Student Watch!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gallagher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8117013"},{"teacherId":9631436,"projectId":8616160,"letterContent":"Hello, and thank you so much for your generous donation to my Intensive Autism Program. The biggest part of this project was the social-emotional learning materials. My students are HUGE fans of Little Scribble Spot, a SEL series of books written by Diane Alber, and in this project, I received two sets of books and two box sets of small spot plushies. One of my students, Jaxyn, has started requesting to work for \"spot books,\" and he enjoys working to play with the spot plushies. He has largely been nonverbal in the past, but the presence of little spot has inspired him to begin speaking more to request which spot he wants, and he has begun learning how to identify the different emotions as tied to the colors of the spots. This is a huge breakthrough for a student with autism, as students with autism often have a challenging time learning social skills, so the emerging ability to identify emotions as tied to the spots is incredible to watch! \r\n\r\nThe other materials we received included a set of photo cases, which I realize may seem silly for a classroom, but they allowed me to create independent learning boxes that I can hand to the students during independent work time. They hold all the laminated materials I created (using the lamination sheets!) that allow students with ASD to work independently. My students love working on their small task boxes, and they feel very proud when they receive praise for completing work independently!\r\n\r\nThe last few items included in this order were a flip chart for emotions and a dinosaur play mat. The flip chart is used to help practice learning emotions during our SEL lessons. The dino play mat is used to help my students learn to play interactively with each other. As many students with ASD do not play cooperatively, the dinosaurs are a highly preferred activity, so a staff member can use them to help teach students how to engage and interact together. It is incredible how much of a change in social interactions my students have experienced. \r\nThank you for supporting our Intensive Autism Program. as a teacher at a Title I school, I spend an immense amount of my time and money buying things to help my classroom run better, and these projects from Donors Choose alleviate a lot of the stress I feel as a teacher. So thank you from the bottom of my heart!!","fullyFundedDate":1733251441742,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-learning-for-autistic-s/8616160/","projectTitle":"Social-Emotional Learning for Autistic Students.","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Robinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9631436_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727402432463","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9631436"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41137","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":481,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":70,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":25.7,"schoolId":41137,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Centennial Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Centennial Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/greeley-evans-weld-county-school-district-6/centennial-elementary-school/41137"}
