Your donation allowed us to create sensory calm-down bottles for all of our special needs classrooms, special education classes, and counseling offices. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who was feeling overwhelmed pick up a bottle, quietly shake it, and focus on the glitter slowly settling — you could visibly see their breathing slow and their body calm.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, our students were so excited. The AP Psychology students especially loved being hands-on in the process. They learned about emotional regulation strategies and then applied that knowledge by creating the bottles themselves. Using pom poms, resin animals, glycerin, glitter, and water, they carefully designed each bottle to create a slow-moving, calming effect. It was powerful for them to connect psychology concepts to something tangible that would directly help their peers.\r\n\r\nNext, our students will continue incorporating the sensory bottles into daily regulation routines. In AP Psychology, we are building on this lesson by diving deeper into coping strategies, stress responses, and mindfulness techniques. Students are even discussing additional tools we can create to support emotional wellness across campus.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just fund a project — it created meaningful tools that are helping students regulate emotions, practice self-awareness, and support one another.
