They could follow along during a read aloud, go back and reread a chapter themselves, or partner read with a classmate or family member.\r\n\r\nMany students identified with Peter, the protagonist, because they also have little bratty brothers and sisters that get away with everything! The book was engaging and made many students wanted to read it over and over again. Being able to read a passage or chapter more than once (or twice!) builds fluency and confidence.\r\n\r\nAfter the book, each student took a chapter and made a diorama. We displayed them in a public hallway so that younger students could visually \"read the book.\" One of the dioramas was so impressive that it was entered into the district art show.\r\n\r\nThis was a great read and a great project and now that we have a class set of the book, each class of 4th Grade Nothings will get to read it!","fullyFundedDate":1726943304497,"projectUrl":"project/tales-of-a-4th-grade-nothing-books/8778740/","projectTitle":"Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Oliver","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5739495_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534905943022","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5739495"},{"teacherId":9918134,"projectId":9102257,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our school now has a huge speaker, and it's already making a big difference for our students and families. Since then, we've brought it out for other events, and it has quickly become something our whole school community looks forward to.\r\n\r\nFor our students, the speaker means more than just music. It creates energy, brings people together, and helps make our events feel exciting and special. The lights and powerful sound get everyone engaged, from the youngest students to parents and staff.\r\n\r\nWe're so grateful for your support it's helping us create joyful memories, stronger connections, and a school community that feels alive and united.
