My students were absolutely thrilled the moment the box arrived and dove right in. That very first day we unpacked everything and began using our new dry-erase boards and erasers during math; they've become a staple in class and we use them almost every day for solving problems, peer practice, and quick formative checks. Having individual boards has made math more hands-on and immediate: students confidently try problems, erase quickly when they need to revise, and share strategies with table partners without the fear of making a permanent mistake.\r\nOne standout resource has been the giant magnetic coordinate graph. We recently turned it into a full-class game modeled after Battleship: the large graph served as the class \"map\" while each table group created their own oversized coordinate planes to play on. The energy and engagement were incredible! My students practiced plotting and reading coordinates repeatedly while collaborating and cheering each other on. This activity was a real game changer for building confidence with graphing, and we'll be using the boards and the magnetic graph again for targeted review sessions leading into state testing to sharpen those skills even more. Thanks to your support, learning math has become more interactive, collaborative, and fun for every student in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1755203850305,"projectUrl":"project/math-in-motion-hands-on-tools-for-brigh/9523392/","projectTitle":"Math in Motion: Hands-On Tools for Bright Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Peters","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8834166_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692487815058","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8834166"},{"teacherId":5134859,"projectId":8959845,"letterContent":"The materials you provided my classroom have benefited our student throughout the school year. \r\n I have been able to make several books with the laminating materials you provided that allow for hands on manipulation for children who are unable to verbally respond. \r\nI love to laminate materials and create ways for them to communicate through pictures or with books by adding pictures to the appropriate pages. \r\nI provide my speech students with fun activities to keep them engaged when targeting speech sound productions. I use the dot markers, plastic sheets and playdough related items to provide playful learning. My students do well when given a reward by dotting and playing with playdough after attempting new sounds or producing repetitions of speech targets. \r\nSpeech is fun and my kids enjoy having fun materials.
