I have selected a variety of items for my project. The alphabet tubs and storage system will provide hands on sound targeted items to help my smallest students be fully engaged. The different items help target specific phonemes for speech sounds and will help provide phonemic stimulation as well as vocabulary building. These manipulatives will also provide tactile and visual opportunities to target prepositions. The predictable story set will provide phonemic development and cognitive development to increase auditory awareness and prediction abilities. They will help with auditory memory, vocabulary, intonation, rhyming which all benefit phonological awareness and language building. Feelings and emotion books will help with vocabulary building and awareness of emotions and feeling with literacy based materials. The positional words resource box will be used to help reinforce the learning of positional concepts. All the materials requested can be utilized in developing receptive and expressive language skills. They can be used in a progressive format to increase length of utterances and grammar structures for my students. I want to provide new materials that will allow my students exciting speech and language opportunities.
