This project truly showed our students the power of community. NEHS members worked hard creating posters, flyers, and ClassDojo posts to promote our food drive. While support was slow at first, our families ultimately came together with generous donations and nonperishable items.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, we provided breakfast bundles to four McKinney Vento families assigned through the district and eight additional McKinney Vento families from our own school. We were also able to celebrate giving by providing trophies and popcorn and hot chocolate parties for the top donating classes.\r\n\r\nIn addition, NEHS students created beautiful, lighthearted holiday cards for seniors in assisted living facilities. Candy canes were attached, and the cards were safely delivered to spread cheer. These experiences taught students not only empathy, but the importance of taking action to uplift others.
