Starting out this year in 5th grade and having to raise funds for Outdoor School has been a challenge. The amount that we have to raise by March is close to $9,000. We have used the Cricket machine to make and sale all sorts of different custom items, key chains, pencil boxes, stickers, tshirts, etc. this has helped us tremendously.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the boxes being delivered to my classroom, they were so excited. We had been planning on what items we would make together. Students were assigned different jobs when it came to using the Cricket machine. We had students using the technology to design logos and stickers, we had students using the hot press to apply vinyl to items, and we all learned how to measure twice and cut once! Teaching students to utilize the supplies and minimize waste was also very important.\r\n\r\nWe have raised around $3800 for Outdoor school so far, mostly because of the supplies that allowed us to be creative and produce our own products to sell to other students on campus. We will continue to make and custom items!","fullyFundedDate":1746463032431,"projectUrl":"project/creative-students-generate-fundraising-p/9296308/","projectTitle":"Creative Students Generate Fundraising Projects Using Their Artistic Talents","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stanley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9617908_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746215647492","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9617908"},{"teacherId":3731689,"projectId":9309014,"letterContent":"My middle school students and I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation to our classroom. Your support has made a significant impact on our students' learning experience and has brought a new level of excitement and engagement to our history projects. When I first shared the news of your donation with my students, their faces lit up with enthusiasm. They were genuinely thrilled to know that a community partner believed in their potential and wanted to support their learning journey. It was a powerful moment that reminded all of us just how important generosity and community support can be in education.\r\nThanks to your contribution, students were able to dive into hands-on history projects that allowed them to explore major historical events, cultures, and figures in creative and meaningful ways. From timelines, building dioramas, creating interactive presentations and replicating artifacts, the materials you helped provide brought history to life in our classroom. These supplies are not only helping us now but will also be an essential part of future projects throughout the school year. We're already planning additional activities and lessons where students will continue to explore the past using the resources you've made possible.\r\nThank you again for your support and investment in our students' education. Your generosity is making a lasting difference, and we are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1746460876730,"projectUrl":"project/recreating-history/9309014/","projectTitle":"Recreating History","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McCuistion","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3731689_orig.jpg?crop=902,902,x297,y840&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1676246633753","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3731689"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30867","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":214,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":68,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":79.1,"schoolId":30867,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cappy Culver Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cappy Culver Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/san-miguel-joint-union-esd/cappy-culver-elementary-school/30867"}
