Our clear trays are used for morning activities and independent work, giving students a space to work independently while building confidence and important skills. The black library bins have helped us create a beautiful, organized classroom library with books at several levels so every reader can find something exciting to explore. We have so many wonderful books that we can rotate them throughout the year to keep our library feeling fresh and fun. Our students love keeping the library organized, and the classroom job of Librarian has quickly become one of our most coveted jobs!\r\n\r\nOur wooden mailbox has truly been a game changer. Students now have a special place to turn in their home-school folders each day, and it makes sending papers home so much more organized. Several students love helping sort papers and take great pride in this important classroom responsibility.\r\n\r\nWe also received bags for our phonics chip kits, and they could not have arrived at a better time! During our second week of school, we began phonics instruction using hands-on manipulatives. The students are so excited to use their Chip Kits and are already doing a wonderful job taking care of their materials.\r\n\r\nWhen the class saw the materials they were so excited! The students immediately saw how things can be taken care of and what the expectations are surrounding being responsible with our learning manipulatives. They especially love having classroom jobs connected to our new resources. Seeing their excitement over something as simple as organizing books, sorting papers, or caring for their phonics materials has been such a sweet reminder of how much ownership second graders can take when we give them meaningful responsibilities.\r\n\r\nAs for \"next steps\", we are just getting started! Our next steps are to continue building strong phonics skills through hands-on learning with our Chip Kits while also growing our independent work habits. We will continue using our classroom library every day as students explore books that are just right for them, and we will keep rotating books so there are always new discoveries waiting for our readers.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, we are continuing to build a classroom community where students learn to care for their materials, take responsibility for their classroom, and become confident, independent learners.\r\n\r\nTo every donor who helped make these resources possible, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your kindness, generosity, and love have made such a difference for my brand-new group of second graders. You didn't just provide classroom supplies—you helped create opportunities for my students to learn, explore, take ownership, and feel proud of their classroom.
