When the students saw the resources rolling in they couldn't wait to put them to use. We immediately began using the factoring tiles for our lesson the next day when completing the square. The basic supplies like tissues and pencils have lightened a load off of me as a teacher who would typically buy these items with my own money. \r\n\r\nMany students have expressed how grateful they are to be able to have craft supplies and games readily available as well since this isn't common in most public school classrooms. Every student is also now able to confidently receive a notebook or folder if this is something they may not be able to fund from home. \r\n\r\nThe next steps for me and my students is to continue to build our collection of math education resources and use them to understand the math we are learning through multiple representations, tactile experiences and fun projects and games. \r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for your kind donation. You can't begin to understand the impact it made in my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1727462616350,"projectUrl":"project/ms-brights-math-success/8577580/","projectTitle":"Ms. Bright's Math Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bright","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9633362"},{"teacherId":9298205,"projectId":8572585,"letterContent":"The texts that you provided to my students mean so much to them. I had to use makeshift packets to teach these titles for years, and many students were often disappointed that they would not get to use an actual book, but this year was different because of you. If we aren't using packets, we are using books that are quite old (some are from the 70's). When my students learned that they were the first to use these books, they beamed with pride. When I teach A Streetcar Named Desire I like to use reader's theater, and it was so nice that we were all working with the same page numbers. For Fahrenheit 451, my students were so happy to have books they didn't need to tape back together, and to have enough books so they could take them home if they needed extra time. Thank you giving my students pride in their learning materials.","fullyFundedDate":1727462784591,"projectUrl":"project/fresh-texts-for-kids/8572585/","projectTitle":"Fresh Texts for Kids","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Daniels","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9298205"},{"teacherId":9633416,"projectId":8577596,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for the supplies you donated to my students. The highlighters and many colors were a huge success. We take avid notes for many lessons that students keep in a special notebook. In addition to other places. Every time I got out the highlighter basket and allowed students to choose from them. Many colors, students reacted with much more eagerness and happiness to switch between the six different colors. Students were able to stay focused for longer, and asked more questions to stay more interested in the topics. \r\n\r\nThe egg shakers were also a big hit. We got them out for different purposes. One of the main reasons were for shaking them when the students knew the right answer. It kept them activated and engaged without having to reply immediately about their knowledge. This helped include students who were not always able to speak publicly about their understanding. I also used them for when a student didn't know the answer, I asked them to put their egg out on their desk to let me know and I would come around and help them discreetly.\r\n\r\nThe class set of scissors were very needed as well as the rulers, sharpies and markers. Students need to label and decorate many items and they love having the better tools.\r\n\r\nLastly the playdoh was likely the biggest hit. We got it out during two main weeks. One during a period of presentations so that those who were listening were able to maintain better attention while rolling around the clay. The second use was to decompress after a major test and to remain quiet and create something fun. They enjoyed it immensely.","fullyFundedDate":1727463003946,"projectUrl":"project/ms-lamberts-tools-for-success-in-colla/8577596/","projectTitle":"Ms. Lambert's Tools for Success in Collaboration with Peers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lambert","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9633416"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41838","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":940,"numTeachers":59,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":71.4,"schoolId":41838,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Canon City High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Canon City High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/canon-city-school-dist-re-1/canon-city-high-school/41838"}
