It surely does not feel that way because I love teaching and I love the students that walk through our hallways every year. The years of education have taught me many lessons. One of the very important lessons is to make sure a love of reading is fostered, not only in my classroom but in the school as well. When a love of reading is fostered, children's critical thinking skills are activated, and they learn about the world around them. \r\n\r\nAnother lesson I have learned is to make sure the students see themselves represented in the characters they are reading about. Along with having the students read stories that are similar to themselves and their background knowledge. The connections increase their interest and a love of reading begins. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping me make this possible in my community and at our school.","fullyFundedDate":1742912944730,"projectUrl":"project/books-for-roadrunnerslibros-para-correc/9054761/","projectTitle":"Books for Roadrunners/Libros para correcaminos","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Garza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp58604_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1450325591427","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/garzagladiators"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96166","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":876,"numTeachers":55,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":92,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":96166,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Camino Real Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Camino Real Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/hays-consolidated-independent-school-district/camino-real-elementary-school/96166"}
