Because of your kindness, my 4th grade students now have a volleyball net, volleyballs, and soccer nets to use during our physical education time. These new resources have already transformed the way we play, learn, and move together as a class. We've been using the equipment during recess and structured PE activities to practice teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship. One of my favorite moments was watching my students work together to set up the volleyball net for the first time. Several of them eagerly volunteered, and once the game started, the entire class was cheering each other on as they learned how to serve and return the ball.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the equipment, their excitement was immediate and contagious. There were cheers, wide smiles, and lots of questions about when we could start playing. Many of my students do not always have access to sports equipment outside of school, so having these opportunities during the school day means a great deal to them. The soccer nets have been especially popular, and students quickly organized friendly matches during recess, practicing passing and goal-keeping while encouraging their teammates.\r\n\r\nAs we continue using these materials, we are building lessons around teamwork, perseverance, and healthy physical activity. Students are learning how to work collaboratively, follow game rules, and support one another whether they win or lose. These experiences are helping them develop confidence, cooperation, and a love for staying active. Your generosity has given my students joyful opportunities to move, play, and grow together. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1766018793373,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-active-play-for-every-student/9894583/","projectTitle":"Game On! Tale of Despereaux is a story of accepting someone that is different. It does it in a way that kids enjoy reading it. My students read this aloud in class and we learn vocabulary used in the book. They use tiered vocabulary and then place the words in a table which they make inferences about. When they have completed their inferences, they look up definitions and then write their own sentences. \r\n\r\nSometimes students enjoy picking other students to read the story. We also will have other readers outside the class come in to read the novel. Reading comprehension is also important and I've seen big improvements since we started summarizing and having students read their summaries to table groups. Summaries reinforce learning and comprehension. \r\n\r\nSome students are very confident with their reading and will volunteer over and over. Its so nice to see a student that loves to read like some of them do. I encourage all of my students to read even if they are not sure of themselves. It is only with making an effort that we can be better in anything.
