Because of you, my students now have access to an important tool that has transformed our classroom learning environment in such meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nBefore receiving these headphones, our literacy time often came with challenges. Many of our online programs required sound, and students had to share devices or work in less-than-ideal listening conditions. This sometimes caused distractions, made it difficult for students to focus, and left some learners frustrated. Your donation changed all of that. With these headphones, every student now has the chance to listen, learn, and practice at their own pace.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been immediate. During reading practice, I notice my students fully immersed in their stories, phonics lessons, and comprehension activities. They are more engaged, and most importantly, more confident. For struggling readers, these headphones have provided privacy and comfort, allowing them to focus without worrying about others hearing their mistakes. For advanced readers, the headphones give them the freedom to dive deeper into more challenging texts and activities without distraction. This has created a balanced classroom where every child's needs are being met at the same time.\r\n\r\nAnother beautiful change I've observed is the overall atmosphere in the room. With each student working through their literacy tasks independently, the classroom is calmer and more productive. Instead of competing noises and interruptions, there is now a quiet buzz of focused learning. This has helped me as a teacher, too, because I can give more individual support to students who need it while knowing that the rest of the class is actively and meaningfully engaged.\r\n\r\nBeyond literacy, these headphones are also supporting learning across other subjects. Students use them during math practice, science videos, and enrichment activities, which gives them opportunities to learn in a way that feels personal and interactive. They are no longer limited by what they can hear in a busy classroom. They now have the tools to fully participate and succeed in digital learning.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these headphones have given my students a sense of ownership and excitement. Something as simple as putting on headphones makes them feel special and focused like\r\n they are stepping into their own world of learning. I've seen eyes light up as students finish a story, master a new reading skill, or discover new words on their own. These moments would not have been possible without your kindness.\r\n\r\nThank you, once again, for believing in my students and for investing in their future. Your generosity has opened doors to learning and literacy in ways that will continue to benefit them throughout the school year and beyond. We are truly grateful for your support and for helping to create a classroom where every child feels capable, confident, and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1757861998807,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-opening-doors-for-literacy/9706832/","projectTitle":"Headphones: Opening Doors for Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bacani","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10092988"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_50361","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":599,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":89,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"31.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":76.2,"schoolId":50361,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Calaveras Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Calaveras Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/hollister-school-district/calaveras-elementary-school/50361"}
