The mini steel drums have been a huge hit amongst all grade levels. When they first arrived, I had more than ten kids that weren't even in my music class ask to play them. Several high school students wanted links to purchase their own, and through Donor's choose, we were able to purchase enough for the entire elementary population. \r\n During music, we have had lots of fun learning some of the songs that were provided with the drums, and exploring our own music made with them. Whole classes of students worked together to create and play beats and songs. It has been very fulfilling to have the drums.\r\n We were also able to get some much needed recorder sleeves with your help, which may not seem like a huge impact to some, but to us, it is. We were using creative paper towel rolls for recorder holders. The sleeves are an upgrade for sure.\r\nThank you again for all of your help. You are truly appreciated. All of the art supplies that we were able to purchase with your help art simply wonderful. The paints and marker help the student bring vibrancy to their drawings. The pipe cleaners are always a favorite in my art room with kids making everything from bracelets and belts to more advanced creatures and structures. \r\n My students love the wooden beads as well as the pony beads, using them on the pipe cleaners to embellish their bracelets and other works of art. Sidewalk chalk is a favorite from kindergarten to 12th grade. It allows my students to showcase their talents for all passer byes to see, and is a simple, yet rewarding media for all to use. \r\n Thank you again. I wanted to send my love and appreciation for all of your support. With your help, I am able able to pay for my masters degree for transformative teaching that includes social emotional well-being, trauma-informed teaching, and teaching from an assets based lens. \r\n I am learning things that have truly transformed the way I approach teaching and life, and how I show up for my school community. I am better able to not only love myself and show up more authentically and more wholly for my students and my family, I am also able to share my knowledge and tools with my students so they may utilize the information and strategies in all aspects of their lives, should they choose. \r\n I am learning how to build a safer environment in my classroom in which all of my students can feel a sense of belonging, valued, heard, and appreciated and celebrated for their unique perspectives and cultural backgrounds.
