Since we have gotten our books and storage bins, my students have learned an extra level of responsibility. They care for their books and materials. They have also been more willing to read and look forward to writing about what we have read in class and at home. They are excited to share with their classmates. They have even taken pride in their reading groups. \r\n\r\nThe students were able to pick their book club books that they wanted to started to read. They worked nicely together in taking a vote for their first book choice. They are able to take the books home to finish their reading and they are responsible in bringing the books back to class. They work together to answer questions and have thoughtful discussions about the connections they can make with the book and their predictions for future readings. \r\n\r\nIt truly has been extremely wonderful watching these group of students grow in their reading skills and communication skills with one another. My students were very excited to use our new materials. They love the new privacy folders and markers. These are such a nice thing to have extras of so we can replace old ones. They love the new stickers and are very excited to pick a sticker when they have mastered a topic in their data notebook. \r\n\r\nOur new rolling whiteboard is very nice to use daily in our classroom.
