The Hummingbird kits and robot cars use quite a bit of energy, and if the power is low, the motors simply won't run. Having a reliable supply of rechargeable batteries meant that my students—including my Girls in STEM groups—could test, debug, and run their robotic creations without any technical roadblocks. They learned the value of resilience, teamwork, and critical thinking in an authentic, uninterrupted engineering environment.\r\n\r\nThanks to these materials, I was able to accomplish a major teaching goal: keeping my classroom green, efficient, and fully powered for hands-on exploration. I was able to design deeper challenges where students could dive into advanced robotics without the worry of constantly buying or disposing of single-use batteries.
