One of our favorite classroom projects right now is decorating the classroom walls with student artwork. Each student is creating unique drawings that reflect their personality and what they've learned so far this year. They also love using the chalk markers to draw on their desks while I teach, which keeps their hands busy and their minds focused. This simple activity has made lessons more interactive and helped students take more ownership of their learning environment.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their excitement was contagious. They were especially thrilled about the snacks because, as growing teenagers, a little extra fuel goes a long way in keeping them motivated and energized throughout the day. Having these supplies available has created a warm, welcoming classroom atmosphere where students feel cared for and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nNext, we will be working on a project focused on gratitude and reflection. My students will be writing letters of appreciation to important people in their lives such as teachers, family members, friends, and others who have made a difference. This project will give them an opportunity to practice writing skills while also encouraging mindfulness and empathy.
