The rulers, compasses, calculators, fidgets, and math manipulatives have quickly become part of our everyday learning. My students are using these tools during math lessons to better understand concepts like measurement, geometry, and problem solving. One of my favorite moments was during a recent lesson when students used manipulatives to physically model a problem before solving it. Seeing them move from confusion to understanding, just by having something they could touch and work with, was incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students were eager to explore everything, especially the fidgets and hands-on tools. For many of them, these resources help reduce frustration and increase focus, which has made a noticeable difference in their confidence and participation. Students who were previously hesitant are now more willing to try, ask questions, and stay engaged throughout the lesson.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we'll continue using these resources to support both skill development and independence. Students will be using the tools for more complex problem solving, collaborative activities, and real-world applications in math. Your generosity has helped create a classroom environment where students feel supported, capable, and ready to learn. I truly appreciate the impact you've made on my students and our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1763595713836,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-math-for-bright-minds/9790368/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Math for Bright Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bauer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9078675"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_87794","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":215,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":54,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":82,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":87794,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Burns High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Burns High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/harney-county-school-district-3/burns-high-school/87794"}
