Because of your generosity, our students now have soccer goals, soccer balls, and a storage rack that have transformed part of our recess space.\r\n\r\nThe first day students saw the goals set up on the playground was full of excitement. Many immediately ran over asking if they could start a game. Within minutes, groups of students had organized teams, set boundaries, and were cheering each other on. It was wonderful to see students collaborating, problem-solving, and encouraging one another through play.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped create more structured and positive opportunities during recess. Students who love soccer now have a space to practice skills, while others are learning the game from their peers. We've already seen students demonstrating teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship while using the goals.\r\n\r\nWe're also using this opportunity to reinforce responsibility and community care. Students are helping make sure balls are returned to the rack and that the equipment is treated with respect so everyone can continue enjoying it.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a real difference for our students. Circle time is truly circle time and not \"oval\" time because the rug is large enough to accommodate that! When my students first saw the tables, their excitement was immediate. They couldn't wait to grab a marker and start working, and many asked right away if they could use the tables for math and science. What stood out most was how naturally students shifted from working independently in notebooks to collaborating with their tablemates. Students now model their thinking, explain strategies visually, and coach one another through challenging math problems in real time.\r\n\r\nThese tables have become a powerful tool for collaboration and problem solving across content areas. In math, students regularly draw models, solve multi-step problems, and compare strategies together. In science, they brainstorm ideas, sketch diagrams, and problem-solve during investigations, whether they are designing a \"science superhero\" powered by concepts like static electricity, current electricity, or magnetism, or mapping out solutions to scientific challenges. The whiteboard surfaces allow students to take risks, revise their thinking, and build off one another's ideas in ways that weren't possible before.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, the tables have also strengthened our classroom community. Students often use them to write encouraging messages to classmates who are absent or to leave positive notes for one another, fostering kindness and connection. Moving forward, we will continue using these tables to support collaborative math tasks, hands-on science projects, and shared brainstorming during writing.
