The addition of headphones has transformed our classroom. My students are now able to fully engage in reading, math, and educational games without the distraction of background noise. It's amazing to see their excitement as they put on their headphones and dive into their learning with confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nThe new storage has also made a big difference in keeping our classroom organized. Each student knows where their headphones belong, and they take pride in caring for their materials. Your support has not only improved our focus and learning but also helped my students build responsibility and respect for their classroom. The students were full of excitement the moment they saw the new materials, and their curiosity immediately turned into hands-on exploration. Through play, they are discovering new math concepts in a fun and meaningful way. These tools allow them to actually see how math works in real life, rather than just hearing about it, making learning more engaging and memorable.\r\n\r\nBy using the manipulatives, students are able to practice math in a hands-on way that supports deeper understanding. They can move, sort, and build with the materials, which helps strengthen their number sense and problem-solving skills. Next week, we will begin using the manipulatives during centers, where the focus will be on counting and number recognition. This will give students even more opportunities to explore math concepts independently and in small groups.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping bring these materials into our classroom—they are already making learning exciting and impactful!","fullyFundedDate":1746786184183,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-building-strong-found/9137231/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Learning: Building Strong Foundations with Kindergarten Math Manipulatives","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kishimoto","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9931219"},{"teacherId":3653449,"projectId":8618792,"letterContent":"The addition (no pun intended) of these math boards and plastic sleeve protectors to my classroom has been such a relief for me and so fun for my students! The math boards have addition and subtraction number families, which are a huge part of first grade mathematics. The students are expected to be able to take 3 related numbers like 3, 6, and 9, and write 3+6=9, 6+3=9, 9-6=3, 9-3=6. With a regular whiteboard this task takes FOREVER, but with these math boards the students can finish the task in just a couple minutes!\r\nThe sheet protectors have also been a life saver in both math and reading. All I need to do is print some pages, slide them in, and the students have math games, phonics worksheets, graphic organizers for writing, you name it!\r\nThese materials would have been too expensive for me to buy myself, and I simply could not have done it without the generosity of you. Thank you so very much for your support of public education.","fullyFundedDate":1731519263617,"projectUrl":"project/math-boards-for-organized-and-successful/8618792/","projectTitle":"Math Boards for Organized and Successful First Graders!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sullivan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3653449_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689020862240","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msgreenslearners"},{"teacherId":9427855,"projectId":8134299,"letterContent":"I hope this letter finds you well! I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your incredibly generous donation of STEAM supplies to our afterschool class. The students were absolutely thrilled when they received the Legos, marble runs, K'NEX toys, Picasso tiles, and straw constructor toys to name just a few. I can already see the positive impact these materials are having on their learning experience.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generous donation, the students now have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning activities that foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking—skills that will benefit them for years to come. The excitement in the classroom is contagious, and it's truly inspiring to witness them working together to build, explore, and innovate with the materials you've provided. It is because of your generous donation that the students can now participate in STEAM challenges with other classes. \r\n\r\nAs a teacher in a Title I school, the support of generous donors like you is invaluable. Your contribution has not only enhanced our STEAM program but also shown the students the power of kindness and community support. We are so grateful for your belief in our students and their potential.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you once again for your kindness and support. Your donation is making a difference in the lives of these young learners, and we truly appreciate your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1715012730940,"projectUrl":"project/expanded-learning-opportunity-program-wi/8134299/","projectTitle":"Expanded Learning Opportunity Program Wish List","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McGuire","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9427855_orig.jpg?crop=1282,1282,x110,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1707151093405","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9427855"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60012","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":630,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":21,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"24.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.0,"schoolId":60012,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bryn Mawr Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bryn Mawr Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/redlands-unified-school-district/bryn-mawr-elementary-school/60012"}
