Please rest assured we are putting your donation to good use! We just finished up our first full week of school and our classroom rug is a big part of our classroom routines. We enjoy having our morning meetings on our classroom rug and using it throughout the day. It's not only functional but pulled our classroom decor together and makes it very inviting. Everyone at the school has stopped by to see it!\r\nThe chair pockets have also been a great addition to our classroom. We don't have cubbies, so it allows my first graders a place to put their finished papers and allows them to easily pack up their finished work at the end of the day. Because of you, our 4th and 5th-grade combo class is stocked with an incredible library of mentors, adventures, and life lessons for the school year.\r\n\r\nTeaching a split-grade classroom comes with unique challenges, but your support has given us the ultimate tool for success. Having matching, complete sets of these incredible novels means that every single student, regardless of where they are on their reading journey, will have a book that challenges their mind and captures their heart. From diving into the history of Esperanza Rising to debating the mysteries of Holes and exploring the magic of Harry Potter, my students are going to experience the true joy of a shared book-club community.\r\n\r\nYour investment goes so much deeper than the pages of these books. You are funding daily classroom debates, critical thinking, empathy for others, and a lifelong love of literature. Children gravitate towards the Tonies Box every single day. During center time, students eagerly take turns choosing stories to listen to, and it has quickly become one of the most loved spaces in our room. It has been wonderful to watch them build independence as they learn how to use the materials responsibly while also strengthening their listening and language skills.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. They were immediately drawn to the figurines, and many of them could not wait to explore. It created such a joyful classroom moment as they gathered around, asking questions and sharing which stories they hoped to hear first. Their enthusiasm reminded me how meaningful these resources are in creating an engaging and welcoming learning environment.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our current lessons, these resources will support our literacy and language development goals in meaningful ways. Students will continue practicing how to retell stories, identify characters and settings, and make connections to what we are learning in class. Because of your donation, we now have all the supplies we need for a successful year — from copy paper for daily work to engaging novels and board games. My students no longer worry about whether they have paper to complete assignments; instead they can focus fully on their academics. Having reliable materials has created a calm, productive learning space where students feel prepared and ready to learn each day.\r\n\r\nYour gift has also strengthened our classroom community. The board games have become a meaningful way for students to connect, practice social skills, and learn how to win and lose respectfully. They play together in positive, cooperative ways and use those moments to build friendships and teamwork. \r\n\r\nThe California history novels are a huge hit — students are excited to read stories about the place they call home. Each child has a book to hold during lessons, allowing for independent reading and whole-class practice that has noticeably improved their comprehension and fluency.
