I was truly surprised, and felt grateful, that there are people out there willing to support childrens' education.\r\n\r\nScholastic Magazine, \"Let's Find Out\", is such a fun and comprehensive resource. It is more than just a magazine, it incorporates technology with it's online components (learning games, informational video clips, movement, teacher resources, experiments, etc...) \"Let's Find Out\" is geared to make science and social studies educational and fun for little learners. I have paid for this subscription myself in most of my 28 years teaching, because I know it also incorporates NYS learning standards in Reading and ELA as well. \r\n\r\nIn closing, thank you! I work in a very diverse and low socio-economic community. My school district has suffered budget cuts that have impacted many of our programs, student resources and cuts in staff. Having this resource, makes teaching fun, and the children are thrilled to bring home this magazine to their families and share what they have learned in school.","fullyFundedDate":1756342381179,"projectUrl":"project/science-fun/9615092/","projectTitle":"Science Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shanley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4060229_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1479572087418","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4060229"},{"teacherId":1520256,"projectId":9290290,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation! As fellow book lovers, I wanted to share a little bit about how your donation is making a real difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThese new texts are helping my students build essential reading skills like finding the main idea, making predictions, and exploring characters' thoughts and emotions. We're also learning about important themes such as kindness, courage, and empathy. Some of the nonfiction books have sparked curiosity about science and history, and we've had some amazing discussions inspired by what we're reading.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading time is one of the most joyful parts of the day. My students read independently, work in small groups with me, and come together for read-alouds where we dive deep into stories and share our thoughts. You can often hear excited whispers as students turn the pages or see them smiling as they connect with characters who remind them of themselves.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful impacts has come from the addition of multicultural books. These stories have allowed my African American students to see themselves positively represented in literature, in both everyday experiences and moments of historical significance. This representation helps build confidence and a deeper sense of belonging in our classroom. It also gives all of my students a chance to celebrate diversity and learn from one another in an authentic, age-appropriate way.\r\n\r\nA few students, in particular, have blossomed with the addition of these books. One reluctant reader has found a favorite series and now eagerly rushes to grab the next book. These moments are powerful—and made possible by you.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the power of reading and for helping us create a classroom where books open doors and spark imaginations.","fullyFundedDate":1744254779502,"projectUrl":"project/books-that-are-just-plain-fun-to-read/9234525/","projectTitle":"Books That Are Just Plain FUN to Read!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Napolitano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1520256_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1489627759145","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/christine-napolitano"},{"teacherId":3579592,"projectId":1974207,"letterContent":"We are incredibly grateful for your generous support of ourclassroom project on DonorsChoose.
