A special highlight of the event was the leadership of our student ambassadors. These students helped guide visitors, direct the flow of the fair, and support our volunteers and presenters throughout the day. Their professionalism and confidence truly stood out. We were honored to welcome approximately 16 community partners who shared their careers and experiences with students. In addition, district representatives, volunteers, and school administrators attended and were extremely pleased with the organization, flow, and overall outcome of the Career Fair.\r\n\r\nWhen students first entered the space and saw the variety of career booths and professionals ready to speak with them, their excitement was immediate. One memorable moment was when a student spent several minutes speaking with a community partner about their career in healthcare as a Surgical Tech. After the conversation, the student shared how inspiring it was to hear someone explain the path they took to reach their career. Moments like this allowed students to see that their future goals are possible and that the work they are doing in school today connects to real opportunities in the future.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue building on this experience through reflection and career exploration activities in class. They will research careers that sparked their interest during the fair, explore the skills and education required for those fields, and begin thinking about how their current academic efforts connect to their long-term goals. This Career Fair created an exciting and empowering experience for our students, and it would not have been possible without the generosity and support of our donors.","fullyFundedDate":1768247559210,"projectUrl":"project/student-voices-student-futures-a-stude/9942941/","projectTitle":"Student Voices, Student Futures: A Student-Led Career Fair","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10351140"},{"teacherId":10204791,"projectId":9974233,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our classroom now has the small essentials that make a big difference in how students show up each day. The items from our \"Small Essentials, Big Confidence\" project have been placed in a quiet, student-accessible area of our classroom where students can take what they need without having to ask. This simple system protects their dignity while ensuring they have the tools they need to feel comfortable and confident at school. From hygiene items to everyday necessities, these resources remove barriers that can often distract students from learning.\r\n\r\nThe first day students noticed the supplies, their reactions were immediate and heartfelt. Some students quietly smiled, others expressed gratitude, and a few simply said, \"Thank you, Ms. Jones.\" One student shared that it helped them feel less worried about coming to school because they knew they had what they needed. Moments like that remind me how powerful small acts of care can be. When students feel secure and supported, they are better able to focus, participate in discussions, collaborate with classmates, and fully engage in their learning.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom continues to be a place where students know they are seen and valued. As we move through lessons and projects this year, students will continue to benefit from having these essentials available so they can focus on growing as learners. Your generosity has helped create an environment where students can walk into the classroom with confidence and leave each day knowing that their community cares about them.","fullyFundedDate":1767234001539,"projectUrl":"project/small-essentials-big-confidence/9974233/","projectTitle":"Small Essentials, Big Confidence","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chanel Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10204791_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1763639048946","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10204791"},{"teacherId":10351140,"projectId":9910848,"letterContent":"This project has truly transformed the reading experience in my classroom. While many of our donors love books themselves, what they may not always see is the intentional skill-building that happens alongside the joy of reading. With our new texts, students are learning how to analyze character development, track theme across chapters, and use textual evidence to support their thinking. We focus on vocabulary in context, comprehension strategies, critical thinking, and meaningful discussion. These books allow students to practice making predictions, identifying conflict, analyzing author's craft, and connecting literature to real-life experiences—all foundational skills that strengthen both confidence and academic growth.\r\n\r\nReading in my classroom is active, engaging, and student-centered. You won't see students quietly flipping pages without purpose. Instead, you'll hear partner discussions, guided reading questions, vocabulary exploration, and small-group conversations where students debate character choices and themes. Some students act out scenes to better understand dialogue and motivation. Others light up during whole-class discussions when they realize their interpretation matters. Reading becomes less about \"getting through a chapter\" and more about thinking deeply and growing as readers.\r\n\r\nThere are particular students who have especially flourished with these new books—students who previously struggled to stay engaged or doubted their reading abilities. I've watched reluctant readers become invested in characters and eager to predict what happens next. One student who rarely participated now volunteers to read aloud because she connects with the protagonist's challenges. Another student, who often finds traditional instruction difficult, has thrived in discussions where he can share big ideas verbally before writing them down. These books have not only strengthened academic skills, but they have also built confidence, identity, and a genuine love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1763866158153,"projectUrl":"project/ms-robbs-class/9910848/","projectTitle":"Ms. Robbs Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10351140"},{"teacherId":10432970,"projectId":10094201,"letterContent":"I am writing to share the incredible impact your generosity has had on our school. When the boxes of clothing arrived, it seemed the entire atmosphere of Broadview shifted to one of excitement and relief. My student leader group was wide-eyed as we unpacked all the items together and they even created their own organizational system in our clothing closet to keep things neat. Seeing their faces light up was a powerful reminder that when a student's basic needs are met, they feel seen, valued, and ready to focus on learning.\r\n\r\nWe have already begun distributing these sweatpants and leggings to students and families in our Broadview community. These aren't just clothes; they restore dignity. I've noticed a visible boost in confidence among students who now have the proper clean attire for the school day, which has directly translated to better participation during classroom lessons. The \"next step\" for our students is to continue building this culture of care; we are using this project as a jumping-off point for an initiative to foster community support and teaching students how we can all look out for one another.\r\n\r\nBecause of the materials provided, I have been able to focus more on delivering my counseling program and less on worrying if my students are comfortable and prepared for the day. It has been wonderful to see students take ownership of their learning and make meaningful connections.\r\n\r\nAccess to Flocabulary has been a game changer! On the very first day—right before Thanksgiving break—I was able to feed twelve students and their families with enough food to support them through the entire five-day break. The joy on their faces as we opened the boxes together was indescribable. My students eagerly stocked shelves, organized items, and cheered each time they discovered something new. For them, your gifts represented far more than food. They represented comfort, safety, and the reassurance that someone out there cares deeply about their well-being.\r\n\r\nThe ripple effect spread through our school almost instantly. More students have stepped forward to share their needs, and others have wanted to donate and contribute. The Cozy Kitchen has become a safe space filled with joy, dignity, and community.\r\n\r\nYour support has done more than fill shelves. It has ignited hope.
