Students can carry these with them during Media Time and use it as they need to in order to provide themselves with emotional regulation. The young lady in the pictures was very sad that morning, and I knew she would need a plushie to love on. This makes it difficult to comprehend anything from stories being read to researching topics on the internet. The baggies help hold the snacks, but also for bundling snacks for a whole classroom. Let me give you some information on how we use them in my classroom. I work in a Title 1 school which is 67% Hispanic. It is imperative we have daily, easily accessed feedback on their understanding of the lessons we teach. \r\n\r\nHaving the EXPO markers to use with the whiteboards shows us quickly and accurately how they are understanding and if they are able to participate correctly with the work we are studying. I use these mainly for mathematics purposes. Think how many trees we save as a bonus! When I say \"Get out your whiteboards and a marker\" the students see this as an engaging, fun activity to show what they know.\r\n\r\nWe are using the \"squishees\" as a reward for those students who are completing lessons on the application called IReady. It meets each student where they are in their learning and helps them move forward. As they are successful with the lessons the program advances in difficulty. With this project, we received so many really cool things. From basics like cleaning supplies and crayons, we needed it all. The students really enjoyed using the spaceman finger spacing tools with writing on the large lined paper. Those two items made a big difference in their ability to write their letters correctly and space them apart appropriately. The pencil sharpener is also a major plus. Since the kids usually jam pencils in them, this style grips the pencil, pulls it down to sharpen it, and then pushes it back out when sharpened. It is amazing, and now we have 2.
