Many of them are naturally drawn to technology, and this project has provided a space where they can harness their tech-savviness in a meaningful way. For students who don't connect with traditional extracurricular activities, Esports has been a game-changer, allowing them to thrive in an environment where they can engage with both technology and their peers. Mario Kart, with its blend of excitement and strategy, has become a powerful tool for teaching critical skills like teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most is how fun and engaging the technology is. The quick-paced nature of Mario Kart encourages students to think on their feet, while the social aspects of the game foster communication and collaboration. Many of our students, particularly those who may not traditionally excel in other areas, have truly warmed to this new technology. They've embraced the opportunity to compete, learn, and grow in a supportive, team-focused setting. The addition of these Nintendo Switch bundles has allowed them to see the value of resilience and working together to overcome challenges, all while having fun.\r\n\r\nThrough this project, we've seen students develop more confidence in their abilities and a stronger sense of community within our school. The technology has provided a platform for them to build important life skills, and it's clear that they are excited about the potential to continue growing as individuals and teammates. This project is shaping our students not only as tech enthusiasts but also as problem-solvers, communicators, and collaborative thinkers, ready for future challenges both in school and beyond.","fullyFundedDate":1732119000374,"projectUrl":"project/middle-school-e-sports-team/8808662/","projectTitle":"Middle School E-Sports Team","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Masters","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9307125"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43368","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":565,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":63,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"17.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":52.4,"schoolId":43368,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brentwood Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brentwood Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/greeley-evans-weld-county-school-district-6/brentwood-middle-school/43368"}
