Thank you so much for your contribution to their success. The students were very excited when they received their supplies. They helped put up posters, blow up the yoga ball, put together the yoga mat storage. They have been working intently on creating a safe and peaceful space in their classroom. \r\n\r\nOver the course of the last couple months the students have started using the space as a place to relax, breathe, and remove themselves from negative conversations or situations. We have sat together and done mindful exercises, community building, and impromptu impactful conversations. \r\n\r\nThe students maintain the quiet corner and introduce new students to the quiet corner when they come in. I continue to introduce them to different mindful practices and prompt them to brainstorm and discuss different coping mechanism and physical practices such as breathing and stretching to help them cope with societal stresses, peer pressure, decision making, test fatigue, etc. We are extremely grateful for the impact of your generosity and kindness.
