The resources, including *A Little SPOT of Emotions – SPOT Detective* and the series books on Kind Words, Friendship, and Emotions, have given our students concrete, engaging ways to understand and talk about their feelings. These stories break down complex emotional concepts into language and visuals that our young learners can truly grasp. As a result, students are building essential self-regulation strategies, learning how to pause and identify their emotions, and practicing positive responses in real-life situations. We have been given the opportunity to have monthly class initiatives working on identifying voice tone, body language, etc and how sarcasm can influence the delivery of our words. This has been exceptionally helpful for some students who have begun transitioning into in- class resource rooms and are seeking acceptance and encouragement from their neuro-typical peers. \r\n\r\nThe plush emotion spot toys and the Little Spot Educator's Guide have further strengthened this impact by turning learning into hands-on, interactive experiences. Students eagerly use the plush characters during discussions, role-play, and problem-solving activities, which has helped strengthen friendships and build foundational social skills. We are seeing growth in empathy, kind communication, and cooperative play—skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom. Your support in providing these materials has empowered our students with tools for emotional awareness and connection, and we are deeply grateful for the lasting impact they continue to make.","fullyFundedDate":1764715358367,"projectUrl":"project/little-learners-big-feelings/9702796/","projectTitle":"Little Learners, Big Feelings","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lauren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/l-gargiulo-ot"},{"teacherId":6139699,"projectId":9108432,"letterContent":"On behalf of our entire school community, I want to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation of books focused on autism awareness and inclusion. Your contribution assisted us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students by providing them with valuable resources that promote empathy, understanding, and acceptance. These books serve as powerful tools in helping children see the world through different perspectives, encouraging thoughtful conversations and fostering a more inclusive environment for all. Each of our homerooms were able to focus on a book and provide a summary that was proudly displayed to the school and community members during an Autism Acceptance Assembly.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our students now have greater access to stories and information that build awareness and celebrate neurodiversity.
