Your generosity has already made such a meaningful difference for my second-grade students, and I am incredibly grateful for the resources you helped provide.\r\n\r\nOne of the things my students are especially excited about is our new reading incentive. Students earn beads for their necklaces as they read books and successfully complete Accelerated Reader quizzes. They love watching their necklaces grow, and each new bead represents a book they have read and a goal they have accomplished. It has been such a fun way to encourage reading while also giving them something tangible to celebrate their hard work.\r\n\r\nYou also helped provide classroom money and little coin purses for our classroom reward system. This is especially exciting in second grade because learning about money is part of our math standards! Students can earn classroom money for making positive choices and working hard, save it in their coin purses, and then use it to shop for rewards. They will have their first opportunity to shop this week, and they are already so excited! I love that something designed as a classroom incentive can also give them real-world practice counting, saving, and spending money.\r\n\r\nOur project even provided a new soccer ball for recess. I am responsible for providing and replacing the balls my students use at recess, so having one of those expenses taken care of was a wonderful gift. It may seem like a small thing, but to a group of energetic second graders, a new soccer ball is definitely not a small thing!\r\n\r\nOur school does not receive a great deal of extra district funding for classroom materials, so many of the resources and special touches I want to provide for my students normally come directly out of my own pocket. Your support allowed me to give my students experiences, incentives, and materials that I otherwise would have had to purchase myself or go without.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and our classroom. Because of you, my students are reading more, celebrating their accomplishments, practicing important math skills, and even having a little more fun at recess.
