As the boxes came in the students were so surprised as I opened them all up in front of them, and told them everything in the boxes were things that would bless our classroom. One thing that we have used daily is the whisper phones. These are an amazing asset to help my students hear themselves read, even if they are reading in a whisper (in fact they work better when they whisper). \r\n\r\nWe have loved using the dry erase pockets to play math games, we've used them for reading activities, and so much more. Without your donations, these things would not have been made available to my students at this time. I am truly grateful! \r\n\r\nOur next steps, will be to continue using all of the supplies, and to help our emotional well being as well, as some of the items are used to help with anxiety. These cute videos help keep my kindergarteners engaged. Five-year-olds aren't known for being able to pay attention for very long, so I love that the videos are all 4-7 minutes long. The students get a fun introduction or great review for our lesson standard. It holds their attention, but doesn't go on for so long that the kids stop paying attention.\r\n\r\nPlus it gives me a minute to pass out materials for our hands-on activity portion where we use other learning tools to practice the concept. These stools have given my students the flexibility to move while learning, which has made it easier for many of them to stay focused and engaged during lessons. It's been wonderful to see students who usually struggle to sit still now able to participate comfortably during ELA and math time.\r\n\r\nThe books about historical figures have become a favorite part of our social studies lessons. Students have been eager to learn about the lives and contributions of people from different time periods, and they are excited to start working on their wax museum projects, using the information they have learned from these books. \r\n\r\nThe markers have added a fun, creative boost to our classroom and have helped keep students engaged in their learning. The new whiteboard markers have also made lessons more interactive. Students are much more eager to come up to the board, solve problems, and share their thinking when they have bright, easy-to-use tools. I have many students that struggle with focus and these allowed them to feel more comfortable on the floor for small group work or at their desks where they can comfortably sit and fidget as needed. \r\nWe have used the headphones on multiple occasions and they are so helpful for students to be able to focus on their own work with their over ear headphones to help them block out other noise and distractions. \r\nThe classroom supplies have been used to make learning more fun and engaging for students and we have all benefited so much from your kindness.
