The students were so excited when our supplies started arriving. We sometimes use the materials during class, and sometimes we use them at the end of class as a free choice activity. The students are having so much fun that they don't realize they are still doing math.\r\n The nuts and bolts with the numbers is helping them with number sequencing, number identification, patterning and counting. The puzzles are helping them learn the number names and sequences for the numbers 1-20. The number locks are helping them with counting and number identification. The pattern blocks are helping them with matching and shape identification. The students really love the \"find the number\" game which strengthens their fine motor skills as well has works on recognizing numbers. We all love the Mathemachicken stories. We have a Mathemachicken puppet in our classroom and he enjoys the stories too! They were so excited to get an art center in the classroom. \r\n\r\n Each month we focus on a new artist and then the students create their own piece of artwork inspired by that artist. They have done great with this and have made beautiful pieces of artwork to take home as keepsakes. \r\n\r\n We also incorporate several different art projects around the different seasons and holidays. We have done so much with the art center in just a month. We are looking forward to using it the rest of the year. \r\n\r\n Thank you for bringing art alive and fostering young minds in the world of art. It truly is a great addition to our classroom. We couldn't have done it without your donation.
