They were so eager to explore that I could hardly finish explaining the directions before they dove in, collaborating, problem-solving, and reading together with huge smiles.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the new resources daily during our small-group rotations. In our math center, students build number sense through hands-on counting, sorting, and pattern activities, while in our literacy center they're practicing phonics and sight words with engaging games that make reading come alive. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of first graders use letter tiles to build words from our current story, cheering each other on as they sounded them out correctly.\r\n\r\nThese centers have encouraged independence, confidence, and teamwork. Students are taking ownership of their learning and showing pride in their progress. The interactive games have helped our students learn the Pre-academic skills they need to enter Kindergarten next school year. They have enjoyed counting ice-cream scoops while working on fine motor skills. They have also enjoyed learning about motion using the magnetic wheels on the magnet board. They have been gaining skills with the ABC connecting blocks to spell their names and be able to better recognize letters in the alphabet both upper and lower case. We have also used the paint daubers to start working on reviewing the letters of the alphabet before our pre-K promotion and the end of this preschool year. \r\n\r\nThe following year some of our students will be returning and we will continue to use these materials including the interactive games that help our students connect letter sounds to the alphabet letter, one to one correspondence counting skills, and placing items in categories like shapes and colors.
