The kits truly help them segment and blend words to help them better grasp the English language and how to read and write.\r\n\r\nMany of my students come from low income households and struggle to stay on grade level. They learn how light bends and see the sun as more than just a big yellow ball in the sky. The prisms help them understand light bending and the creation of colors.\r\nUsing tuning forks, the students discover how the ear functions and how vibrations influence sound. Teaching about vibrations reveals the future scientists and doctors in my classroom, as they are captivated by the workings of the human body.\r\n\r\nOnce again, I express my deepest gratitude for your donation. Several of them have read them two or three times already. They are so popular with students that there is a list of students waiting to read them! \r\n\r\n Our weaving project is about to get underway, with students learning to use weaving boards similar to those used by many Native American tribes we have been studying. We are so lucky to have healthy snacks that all of my students can enjoy. No one feels left out anymore and I don't have to save certain snacks for certain students. I especially feel the gratitude from parents of students with dietary needs. Sending your child and knowing they are eating things that are safe for them should and now is a major priority in my class.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the snacks, they were thrilled. They wanted to try all of them right away. I snapped this picture the first day we opened and enjoyed our applesauce pouches. These were a huge hit! They even taught them fine motor skills trying to open them! A win for everyone!\r\n\r\nCurrently we are working on reading and writing CVC words and adding and subtracting within 10. Students get to \"buy\" supplies and other desk pets during this rotation. Each class earns this in their own classroom. The teacher lets me know how many choices their class earns. Then they choose what they want at the pet shop.
