One of our favorite moments was during a \"team challenge day,\" where students worked together to set up obstacle courses using cones, hoops, and balance tools. They took turns timing each other, cheering on their classmates, and even modifying the course to make it more fun or challenging. This not only strengthened their gross motor skills, but also encouraged problem-solving, communication, and teamwork in a very natural, joyful way.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials were first introduced, the students' reactions were full of pure excitement...there were cheers, wide eyes, and lots of eager questions about how everything worked. Many students who are usually more reserved quickly joined in, showing confidence and enthusiasm as they explored the new equipment. It was wonderful to see students collaborating, inviting others to play, and using their imaginations to create games together.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we plan to incorporate these tools into more structured lessons that connect outdoor play with academic concepts, such as counting, patterns, and following multi-step directions. Because of you, the resources you made possible were able to be used immediately to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for my students.\r\n\r\nUsing these materials, students created a holiday-themed bakery that allowed them to practice both academic and social skills in an engaging, real-world way. They worked on addition and subtraction fluency by counting back change during cookie exchanges with staff members. Students also painted posters to advertise their business and solved real-world word problems to calculate the total number of cookies given to staff.\r\n\r\nThese activities helped bring learning to life and provided opportunities for collaboration, problem-solving, and communication. Without donors like you, this project would not have been possible.
