Every morning, we get to join on the clean, beautiful rug to begin our day. We come together as a family and tell stories about our lives and families as well as the adventures we go on. The rug is spacious enough to accomodate all of my students comfortably allowing for a pleasant experience all around. \r\nMany activities take place on our classroom rug. Not only do we hold Morning Meeting and read alouds there but this past week, we invited kindergarten students from two other classrooms to join us in a week long holiday unit. Each day we all gathered on the rug, listened to a read aloud and then completed holiday related activities. The children loved elf day the most. On this day, one of the activities included working with a partner on the rug to build a chair for their elf. The children had a fabulous time creating with various manipulatives and then having their photo taken with their elf proudly sitting in their chair.\r\nIt has amazed me to see how respectful the children have been with the new rug.
