One of the most impactful items has been the rolling desk, which has completely transformed my ability to model during whole-group instruction. With the document camera pointing directly at my rolling desk, students are now able to clearly see exactly what I am modeling in real time. This has been especially helpful during whole-group lessons, as students can follow along step by step without losing focus or missing key details.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic erasers have also been extremely helpful, particularly during our most recent math unit on adding and subtracting using bar models. Because of your donation, students were able to fully participate in whole-group activities with a true 1:1 setup—each student had their own dry-erase marker and eraser. Students solved problems by drawing directly on their desks and easily wiping their work away using the donated erasers. This hands-on approach significantly boosted engagement in my math class, as students loved being able to draw on their desks. Most importantly, this increase in engagement translated into results: 38% of students met or exceeded the standard on the unit assessment, which is a 26 percentage point increase from our first unit assessment.\r\n\r\nThe wooden clothespins have been used to create an organized and efficient chart to track student dismissal routes and behavior, helping our classroom run more smoothly and safely each day. The laminating pouches have been used to preserve student activity sheets and to create durable vocabulary cards that are displayed on our word wall, providing strong visual supports for student learning. The pencils have been such a help as well — they lasted through the entire first half of the school year, and we are still using them as we enter the second half of the year.\r\n\r\nThank you again, and God bless DonorsChoose and everyone who donated to my classroom — Ripple & Michael Jordan & the Jordan Brand, and Mrs. Uribe from Best Elementary School. Your generosity has made a lasting impact on my students and our learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1758202692998,"projectUrl":"project/mr-langs-classroom-wishlist/9491751/","projectTitle":"Mr. Lang's Classroom Wishlist","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lang","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9593802_orig.jpg?crop=852,852,x0,y34&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721086112183","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9593802"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16877","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":638,"numTeachers":63,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":84,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"10.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.9,"schoolId":16877,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Best Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Best Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/alief-independent-school-district/best-elementary-school/16877"}
