Because of your kindness, we were able to purchase a variety of adapted scissors that are already making a meaningful difference in the lives of my students.\r\n\r\nAs a school-based occupational therapist, I work with many students who face challenges with fine motor skills due to various disabilities. Standard scissors can be frustrating or even impossible for some children to use, which often leaves them feeling left out of classroom activities. But thanks to you, that is no longer the case.\r\n\r\nThe adapted scissors you helped fund have opened doors—literally and figuratively—for my students. They now participate more confidently in arts and crafts, classroom projects, and hands-on learning tasks. I've seen firsthand the pride on their faces as they cut independently for the first time. These moments of success are building their confidence, fine motor development, and a greater sense of independence that will support them in school and beyond.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just provide tools—it provided opportunities. You made it possible for every child, regardless of ability, to feel included and capable. From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of my students, thank you for helping us create a more inclusive and empowering learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1735691699531,"projectUrl":"project/cutting-through-barriers-empowering-stu/8873389/","projectTitle":"Cutting Through Barriers: Empowering Students with Adapted Scissors for Independence","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mohammad","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4517848"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_25195","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":90,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":49,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":72,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":"4.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.6,"schoolId":25195,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Benjamin Braun Educational Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Benjamin Braun Educational Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/-county-run-/benjamin-l-braun-learning-ctr/25195"}
