Each month, our students have the opportunity to engage with the school community as they prepare and deliver coffee orders to staff members. This has created meaningful connections beyond our classroom walls, including partnerships with another class in the building. These interactions not only build relationships but also give our students real-world opportunities to practice communication and social skills.\r\n\r\nThe coffee cart also provides an incredible platform for students to generalize essential academic and life skills. From practicing measuring while cooking to reading staff orders and following multi-step instructions, the project reinforces their math, reading, and executive functioning abilities in a practical, hands-on way. These skills are essential for their growth and independence, and we're so proud to see their confidence building each day.
