Now, they get to explore such a diverse list of more modern and culturally inclusive novels because of you. These novels cover a variety of themes with characters more representative of our students. My students were so eager to open our packages and get started. \r\n\r\nWith these novels, students are more willing to choose a book off our shelves and get to have that excitement again about reading. Students are diving into graphic novels, vignettes, historical fiction, memoirs, and more. Students are participating in regular opportunities of sustained silent reading during class time and will be taking on new genres throughout the rest of the school year. They are even able to check out novels to read at home. They have already been sharing the powerful nonfiction and fiction stories they have read with our whole class. \r\n\r\nWe know there are hundreds of other projects you could have chosen.
