"I believe each of my students must craft an individual reading life of challenge, whim, curiosity, and hunger."-Penny Kittle In order for students to do this, they need a library of books to choose from and they need easy access to them. My students are more likely to choose books they enjoy that are readily available in my classroom. While we all share these books, the conversations and enthusiasm can spread easily. They will also be engaging with one another through small book groups and book talks. Overall, I want to build a better independent reading culture. This project will help me do just that!
