My students have benefited from your gift and enjoy our skills development time. Thank you for your generosity.\r\n\r\nYour gift is also impactful as I work in a Title 1 school. Title 1 schools receive funding that allow high-poverty schools to offer various programs, such as academic interventionists, smaller class sizes, additional staff, professional development, and family engagement activities to support at-risk students. We have talked all year about how equality is not always equal, and different students have different needs at different times.\r\n\r\nWe used the flexible seat in our calming corner. It allowed the students to sit or recline and added comfort to our calming space. We also enjoyed the decorations and books for our calming area. The clipboards allowed for flexible movement within the classroom, and students could easily partner up and move to a space that was productive for them away from our traditional desk groupings. These books have already made a significant impact on my students, sparking their curiosity and helping them grow as readers. Your support has truly enriched our learning environment, and I wanted to share how these books are transforming our classroom.\r\n\r\nIn our daily reading sessions, we use these new texts to develop critical skills, such as comprehension, vocabulary, and sequencing. Beyond the technical skills, the books are introducing my students to diverse perspectives and encouraging their imaginations. Many of my students are non-vocal and use a speech device to communicate. For every new book we read, I make a fluency chart, sentence builders, and sequencing activities that correlate with the books. They are able to display that they understand the content of the books by using the materials I have made along with their speech devices. It is very cool to see them grow in understanding about the parts of the books (like the title, author, setting, characters, etc...), the purpose of books (to tell a story), and that it can be a gratifying experience. \r\n\r\nThe joy these books have brought is immeasurable. One student who previously showed little interest in reading has become enthralled with Charlotte's Web, often staying after class to discuss the story. If I needed a substitute teacher and planned an alternative activity, I often came back with a note saying that the student really wanted to continue reading the story, so they finished another chapter. \r\n\r\nThank you once again for your kindness and belief in the power of education. Your contribution is not only helping my students develop a love of reading but also building skills that will benefit them for a lifetime. Many of my students get little to no exposure to children's literature outside of the school setting. Providing them with a rich variety and exposure to different types of books will impact their lives forever.","fullyFundedDate":1727964323072,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-futures-one-book-at-a-t/8833020/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Futures: One Book at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sarah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9622189"},{"teacherId":4033051,"projectId":8388002,"letterContent":"On behalf of the entire classroom, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation in support of our educational materials.
