Because of your generosity, our classroom now has a special space where students can slow down, settle in, and truly enjoy books.\r\n\r\nMy first graders have been using the cozy corner every day during independent reading and small group rotations. One of my favorite moments happened during our Family Stories reading unit. A student grabbed a book from our new collection, curled up in the cozy corner, and said, \"This is my favorite place to read.\" He spent the entire reading block focused on the story and later shared the lesson he learned from the characters with the class. Moments like that show how important a comfortable and inviting reading space can be for young learners.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate. They were amazed by the soft seating and inviting book area and kept asking when it would be their turn to read there. The cozy corner quickly became one of the most loved parts of our classroom.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are continuing to build strong reading habits by practicing retelling stories and identifying the author's message. The cozy corner gives students a peaceful place to read closely, think about the characters, and prepare to share their ideas with their classmates.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create a space where students feel excited to read and confident sharing their thinking. Thank you for helping our young readers grow and develop a love of books.","fullyFundedDate":1758842304190,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-corners-for-curious-readers/9728564/","projectTitle":"Cozy Corners for Curious Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Khaknejad","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7288864_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1593386415424","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mskhaknejad"},{"teacherId":9715694,"projectId":9762430,"letterContent":"First and foremost, I want to thank you all for your kindness and generosity. \r\nYour donations have helped create a true difference in the lives of these CSA students. As soon as students returned from Thanksgiving recess, they were surprised and excited to see it set up at the front of Room 24 at the Bartlett. I assembled the board myself and placed it next to our Clear Touch panel so students no longer have to turn around during lessons—everything they need to see is now right in front of them. We use the board every day for posting our science content and lesson objectives, which helps students stay focused and organized.\r\n\r\nIn Grade 5, students are using the board to track their investigation of the planets in our solar system, recording orbit times, distances, and planetary sizes. In Grade 6, students are using it to compare amplitude and frequency as they study sound waves.
