They then used the chalk to create an outdoor life-sized set that they can set into and out of based on their story. \r\nMy students were so excited to see the chalk and I cannot wait until it get a little cooler outside. Once it is cooler, I will be able to take students out and do more of this style of production. They can experiment with colors, shapes, textures, and designs while developing fine-motor skills and practicing following directions. These activities also encourage students to share materials, work together, and celebrate each other's creativity.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our current lessons, our next steps are to incorporate the books and art materials into more reading, writing, and creative learning activities. Students will continue reading and discussing stories, identifying important details, making predictions, and sharing their thoughts about what they read.
