This printer and filament has already made a tremendous impact on so many students here at Bangs High School, where it's always a great day to be a Dragon!\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe vast majority of my students had never seen a 3D printer in action before this project. Now, they are learning how ideas move from imagination, to design, to a physical object they can hold in their hands. This Bambu 3D printer has allowed my students to better explore engineering, design, measurement, problem solving, and creativity in ways that traditional classroom materials simply cannot.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOne of our ongoing activities involves my students using TinkercadAttachment.png to model simple spherical-ish objects that are then used in a rolling inertia lab. Students are able to design, print, test, and evaluate their own creations while applying science and basic engineering concepts. This hands-on experience helps students better understand how design choices affect motion, balance, and performance.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe printer has also been offered to our engineering students so that they can prototype and print their engineering designs. Having access to this technology allows students to move beyond simple paper and CAD sketches and actually build, test, and improve their designs in a measurable way.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSeveral students have been directly impacted because their attention and engagement levels in class have skyrocketed since I received the printer. Students are excited to watch it print whenever I can work it into a lesson, and it naturally creates discussion, curiosity, and participation in my classroom. This technology can be incorporated into a wide variety of lessons and activities, making learning more interactive and meaningful.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI are also seeing increased interest in STEM-related fields and technology because of the opportunities that this printer provides. Students are more curious about design, engineering, manufacturing, and problem solving through hands-on experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis impact will continue to grow next year as the printer will be moving with me to the middle school, where it will be used for engineering and technology classes and a new in-school 3D modeling club. Expanding access to this technology at the middle school level will allow even more students the opportunity to explore STEM concepts, computer-aided design, and creative problem solving through hands-on learning experiences, better preparing them for a successful future.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given our students access to modern technology that many rural schools struggle to provide. Because of your support, our students are gaining valuable skills in creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and technology that will benefit them far beyond high school.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students and helping to bring innovative learning opportunities to my classroom. Your support truly makes a difference every single day.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSincerely,\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJoseph Fourney\r\nBangs High School","fullyFundedDate":1770741211393,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printing-is-the-future-bring-the-fut/10082717/","projectTitle":"3d Printing is the Future, Bring the Future to Bangs","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Fourney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10428431"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_11223","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":242,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":66,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"8.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":84.4,"schoolId":11223,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bangs High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bangs High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/bangs-independent-school-district/bangs-high-school/11223"}
